Today we went to Cool Beans coffee shop in Homewood. If you have kids this is a pretty good place to go. They have a kid's corner with books, a t.v. and videos, rocking horse, and chalkboard (just don't look at the floor it was a bit on the dirty side, but so are kids!). For adults there are plenty of comfy sofas and chairs.
They have some delicious freshly baked muffins. We tried the double chocolate. Yum! There are also panini's and soups (in a bread bowl mmmm), coffee, tea, smoothies, and all that good stuff. The people who work there are nice and best of all...

As for events, I have heard about Irish music on every second and fourth Monday. I want to check it out. You should too!

The staff has always been rather rude. Not doing well lately as you can tell by the fact they no longer keep up the website. Coffee is just average.
Well, true enough, I have not had the best experience in friendliness at Cool Beans but they are under new management so maybe it is getting better....
I actually visited quite a long time ago.
